- 1 cup warm milk (105°F to 115°F)
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: nuts, dried fruits, or chocolate chips for added flavor
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Stir to dissolve, then let sit for 5-7 minutes until frothy.
2. Add sugar, flour, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Add melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf.
